Overview
As Signeasy evolved into a contract management platform, illustrations became a functional layer in product messaging helping users navigate complex workflows with clarity and confidence. Designed as an extension of the refreshed brand, the Illustration System balances minimalism with expression. It reinforces Signeasy’s role as both a creator and a caregiver by ensuring every visual moment feels human and intentional.
Challenge
As the product scaled, illustrations appeared across empty states, in-app moments, and marketing surfaces, often feeling stock-like and inconsistent. This resulted in an outdated, generic visual language that weakened brand recall and diluted the product experience. The challenge was to build a scalable illustration system enabling teams to move fast without relying on constant illustration support.
Foundation
The illustration system was built on a small set of clear decisions to ensure consistency, scalability, and ease of use across product and marketing surfaces.
Minimalism
Clean, flat illustrations that align with the brand’s simple and easy aesthetic.
Line Weight
Consistent stroke weights and soft rounded corners ensure a unified visual language.
Personality
Cheerful, trustworthy, and conversational illustrations that add warmth without distracting from the product.
Color Palette
Use of the brand palette with Signeasy Blue as the primary color and Yellow accents for warmth and emphasis.
To help non-illustrators quickly choose the right illustration for a placeholder, we categorized illustrations into three types: Spot Illustrations, Product Illustrations, and Abstract Illustrations. Each category was clearly defined by its use cases and best practices, enabling teams to make confident, consistent choices.
Clear guidelines encouraged intentional use — ensuring illustrations added meaning and clarity rather than visual clutter.
